Set up your test

Park the bike, turn the engine off, and hold the microphone near your ears. Use the same position and radio volume for every pass.

Settings are saved separately for each DSP / EQ section / output in this browser.

Speaker details · optional

Skip these fields to use spectrum, EQ and polarity tests. Details improve crossover guidance for the selected output.

Output crossover range

Enter the selected output’s existing HPF and LPF. SKS excludes bands near and outside these limits from EQ suggestions. These fields document your settings; they do not change the DSP.

No calibration loaded. Phone results are provisional; level is dBFS, not sound-pressure level.

Measurement notes

Use a quiet environment and switch off radio sound effects. Keep crossovers and amplifier gains unchanged. Measure speaker groups separately only after selecting them in the DSP app. The analysis uses octave-band power with pink noise, normalized to the midrange. It is a tonal check, not a gain, phase, delay, or limiter calibration.

02

Record the test signal

Keep the engine off and the phone still near the rider’s ears. First measure background noise with the stereo silent, then play the test track from your other device.

No background sample yet. Capture one before each measurement.

Ready to capture background noise.
Get the pink-noise test track

Download this WAV on the device connected to the bike. Start at low volume. Keep the volume fixed for both measurements.

Playback-only preview does not open the microphone. This phone records only during measurements.

03

Live spectrum & response

Overlay the recorded spectrum with the expected pink-noise levels. Equal logarithmic bands should carry roughly equal energy; taller bands indicate more energy at the microphone.

Play pink noise from the separate device. Live readings are relative, uncalibrated unless a mic calibration file is loaded, and do not generate EQ suggestions.

The full spectrum fits your screen. Select a band below to inspect its frequency, gain, and Q.

Band 1 · 20 Hz

The initial 0 dB / Q 4.32 values are a draft, not a reading from your DSP. Edits here only record settings; apply final changes in your DSP app.

Take a measurement to see the response. No sample data is shown.

Numbered 31-band layout follows your Marts BTX8 screenshots. DS18 uses the same layout per your confirmation. Set EQ IN or EQ OUT and record existing band settings before requesting changes. The screenshot’s “31” label corresponds to the standard 31.5 Hz band.

Each pass suggests at most three separated filter cuts to limit overlapping corrections. Save your original DSP preset. Apply changes in the DS18 app, then return here and remeasure. Results stay in this browser; exporting creates a backup.

Speaker polarity comparison

Test one speaker against a reference speaker using the same pink-noise signal. Play only that pair. Record the normal setting, then reverse only the test speaker’s polarity in the DSP and record again.

Use the background capture and Measure buttons above for each pass. Keep phone position, radio volume, EQ and crossovers unchanged. Repeat A and B for more confidence.

No polarity comparison yet.

This is a relative acoustic polarity check at the mic position. It does not prove absolute wiring polarity or verify time alignment. Compare speakers with overlapping frequency ranges. DSP changes remain manual; restore the original setting if the result is inconclusive.

06

Crossover starting points

Guidance uses optional speaker details for the selected output. Manufacturer frequency-response limits are not crossover recommendations.

This only fills the fields in SKS. Apply changes manually in your DSP, then remeasure. Initial frequency guidance is not yet optimized from your recordings.
